After years of struggling to understand the Bible for myself, I was led to attend 4 years at a college dedicated completely to the study of God's Word (it was so great!).

What I Believe
While there is a diverse group of believers who take these courses, I want to be clear on where I as the instructor stand.
Now, I am a Baptist Pastor, and as such, this is what I believe and teach. It can be laid out simply in an acrostic B.A.P.T.I.S.T
B - Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice: this is why I train people on how to study this for themselves.
A - Autonomy of the Local Church: this group DOES NOT replace your local church. Anything you find in here is merely supplementary. Please consult your pastor when you have questions about a text. God placed him in your life for spiritual oversight.
P - Priesthood of the Believer: We as believers in Christ have Direct Access to God through Christ.
T - Two offices in the church - Pastor and deacon
I - Individual Soul Liberty - people have the right to choose what they will believe. I cannot force my beliefs on you.
S - Saved Church Membership - Only believers are eligible to be a member of the church
T - Two ordinances - Baptism and the Lord's Supper
Statement of Faith
God's Word: I believe the Bible to be the very Word of God; that as such, it is inspired or God-breathed and that it is, therefore, inerrant as well as authoritative in all matters it may address. . (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
As a heads up, you will find that in my teaching and preaching, I graciously use the King James Version of the Bible. The Savior: We believe that Jesus Christ is eternally existent with the Father and that He is the only begotten Son of God; that He became man being born of a virgin and lived a sinless life in order that fallen man might be redeemed. He is truly God and truly man. We further believe that all who will turn from sin and call upon Christ will in fact be saved. (Luke 1:30-55; John 1:1-15; Philippians 2:5-8)
Salvation By Grace through Faith: Although all men stand as sinners before God, the Bible clearly teaches that God loves the sinner and has provided the means whereby all men might be saved from the penalty and power of sin. The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died as a substitutionary payment for the sins of the whole world. He physically arose from the dead and then ascended into Heaven. Any man who places his trust by faith in this sacrifice can be saved. This is the only way to resolve the conflict between sinful man and a Holy God. It is the only way to receive eternal life. (Luke 24; John 3:16; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10; 1Peter 3:18)
The Trinity: We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God.
