Could you really be Jesus' Friend???

Now we are continuing our journey through Matthew, and we're in Matthew 26 and we're on verses 47 through 50 today, and I want us to read those and think about these and there's so there's a word I'm going to emphasize that blows my mind, and here it is ready. And while he yet spake lo Judas one of the 12 came in with a great multitude with swords and staves from the chief priests and the elders of the people. Now he that betrayed and gave them a sign saying whomsoever I shall kiss that saying is he holding fast and forthwith he came to Jesus and said hail master and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, here's the crazy word friend wherefore art thou come. Then came they laid hands on Jesus and took him.

How can Jesus look at this man, and call him, friend? That makes no sense to me How could he know that Judas was betraying Him, and still call him friend I believe this shows is the love of Jesus the love of God, that even though there's probably one of the worst sinners and I feel like I'm right there with Judas sometimes but one of the worst sinners who's ever lived could betray the Son of God to be killed. He calls him friend, and just a few moments earlier he'd washed his feet. This is remarkable. Jesus calls Judas friend and I want to tell you this. If Jesus could call Judas friend. I promise you if you're listening to this, he wants to be your friend. I promise you There's nothing you've done that makes Jesus not want to be your friend he wants to know you. He wants you to be near him. He wants to teach you how to live correctly. And so don't don't fall into the trap of thinking that God wants to know some people and he doesn't want to know others and that God will be close to some preachers but not to you because you're not quite on the same spiritual plane is a no no no friend, you are as close to God as you want to be as you make your mind up to be. And if you are far from God, that is your decision because God wants to know you. In fact he says drawn nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you cleanse your hands, ye sinners and purify your hearts ye double-minded... Friend, I promise you, God wants to know you. He wants to be close to you. In fact, revelation pictures Him knocking at your heart's door saying "open it up, because if you just open the door, I will come in and sup, I will fellowship with you, we'll have a Hangout time together." And so friend if you feel for our friend God, I promise you. He wants to be close to you. He wants you to be his friend are you close to him today. Don't be like Judas, Jesus loved Judas, and had Judas betrayed him and sold him for cheap things. And Jesus died because of Judas betrayal. Don't, don't give Jesus over for a few meaningless pleasures. All your relationship with Jesus close and be a good friend to the Savior.
